My Story

Hey there, and welcome to my blog! I'm glad you stopped by.

My name is Jessica, and I'm a 16 year old blogging her way through life. I'm a junior in high school, and trying to find the balance of health that God has planned for me in life.

However, I haven't always wanted to be healthy. There was a time when all I wanted was the opposite. An eating disorder was taking over my thoughts and actions. Thinness was a priority, and food was an unhealthy obsession. My life revolved around food and my body image, and depression and anxiety made me a completely different person.

In spring 2011, I was admitted into an inpatient hospital that specialized in eating disorders. It was a long, difficult battle; but I believe that it was an overwhelming blessing that God gave me. I will always be grateful for the opportunity to stay there.

God has given me the motivation to be healthy - not only in my body, but in my spirit, my soul, my emotions, and my mind. I know for a fact that nothing can ever take away the progress that I've made, and I know that God is with me through the rest of this walk. Recovery is an ongoing process, but healing is eternal.

I hope you'll continue visiting throughout my journey!

~Jessica~

"For You created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful and I know that full well."
Psalm 139:13-14

  1. Hey Jessica - just found your blog. LOVE it! I'm also a teen blogger and I'm so happy to find another! We sound pretty similar - I love cats, running, books, and Pinterest. I'm definitely hoping we get to know each other! :D

  2. Hi there Jessica! I was looking around your blog and absolutely adore it. I also think that you are such an inspiration. I dealt with a very similar situation as yours (not quite as extreme) and am so happy you were able to get back on the right track. Keep on relying on God girly and He will always be by your side :)

  3. Hi Jess! I think your blog is amazing! and your journey is quite the epic one, which leads me to the favour I'd like to ask of you :) For my final year in high-school I have this huge project I have to do on my topics of choice, and my topic happens to be ED's; specifically anorexia and being hospitalized and girls who have recovered/are recovering, opinion on it. I was wondering if you would mind being one of my sources by sharing your experience and answering the questions I pose, you can be listed as anonymous of course, but the only person reading it will be myself and my teacher, if that makes you feel less awkward! I'd really appreciate it and if you can email me at cocoiman@hotmail.com as it would be easier, thanks so much! :)
